BMC's Pediatric ENT Clinic
If your child is having ongoing trouble sleeping, constant earaches, or other problems with their ears, nose, and throat, the Pediatric Otolaryngology (ENT/Ear, Nose & Throat) Clinic at Boston Medical Center is here to help. BMC's ENT specialists are trained to evaluate and care for your child while working closely with your child’s primary care doctor to provide treatment plans designed specifically to fit your child’s needs.
“We have the ability to see most patients within two weeks, and urgent patients on the day their doctor calls us,” states Jess Levi, MD, pediatric ENT specialist. “To make the visit as useful as possible, multiple specialists such as audiologists, speech language pathologists, and swallow therapists are on hand to assess each child’s problem from a different perspective.”
For example, children with ENT issues often need lung and stomach evaluations. So, Dr. Levi works closely with pediatric pulmonologist Robyn Cohen, MD, and pediatric gastroenterologist Vi Lier Goh, MD to provide a multidisciplinary team approach to evaluating and treating each patient.
"We aim to coordinate all care of the patient and treat the child as a whole. For example, a child with a cough who needs a laryngoscopy (by pediatric otolaryngology), bronchoscopy (by pulmonology) and any GI procedure will often only have to undergo anesthesia once, not three separate times,” says Levi.
The clinic is pleased to have staff is on hand to speak with patients and their families in a variety of languages, and as always BMC is also able to provide face-to-face interpreters during visits when needed.
