BMC's Pediatric Pulmonary Clinic

The Pediatric Pulmonary Clinic at Boston Medical Center, now accepting new patients, treats children suffering from asthma, chronic lung disease of prematurity, chronic cough, congenital lung disorders, and other respiratory issues. BMC’s pediatric lung specialists are here to help. They are trained to work closely with your child’s primary care doctor to provide treatment plans designed specifically to fit your child’s needs.

“We are committed to the highest level of service and personalized care for each child,” says Division Director Robyn Cohen, MD, MPH. “Appointments can be scheduled quickly and because we know it can be challenging for families to come to the hospital with children, we simplify their lives by conducting as many necessary tests as possible—such as allergy tests, x-rays, and lab work—during a child’s first visit.” The team also performs flexible bronchoscopy and conducts coordinated aero digestive evaluations with their colleagues in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Otorhinolaryngology for patients with complex airway issues.

In addition to Dr. Cohen, the pulmonary team is comprised of Phuong Vo, MD, MPH, Mark Dovey, MD, and Tatiana Kiernan, PNP. Together they are committed to implementing a multidisciplinary approach for each patient, and consult as a group on a daily basis to accomplish this. Clinic staff is on hand to speak with patients and their families in a variety of languages, including Spanish, Vietnamese, Cape Verdean and French Creole, and Brazilian Portuguese. BMC is also able to provide face-to-face interpreters during visits when needed.
