As the principal teaching affiliate of Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM), Boston Medical Center is devoted to training future generations of health care professionals. Every member of the hospital’s medical and dental staff holds an academic appointment at the Boston University School of Medicine or at the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Boston Medical Center operates 44 residency training programs with 652 resident and fellowship positions.
BMC has a longstanding relationship with not only BUSM, but also with the Boston University School of Public Health, the Goldman School of Dental Medicine and the Boston University Graduate School of Medical Sciences all located on our campus in Boston’s historic South End neighborhood.
Renowned for the quality of teaching and research and for service to the community, these schools provide education and training in the most current thinking and techniques in their fields, with a particular focus on serving disadvantaged, underserved and indigent populations. Together, the schools employ more than 3,000 faculty members, many of whom are leading experts in their fields, and train a diverse group of more than 3,000 students.
