Integrative Medicine views the patient as a whole person – mind, body, and spirit – and blends the best of conventional medicine, complementary therapies, and lifestyle changes. Paula Gardiner, MD, MPH, is a family physician at BMC who specializes in integrative medicine for cancer patients. In a 50-minute, one-on-one consult, she counsels on areas that may include diet, vitamins, supplements, herbs, home remedies, stress management, relaxation techniques, exercise, and hypnosis.
